It has been a banner year thus far for Mrs. Carter. After sold out shows grossing $200 million on her world tour, talks of joining her husband Jay-Z to form a tour that has the combined powers of a Transformer, and the surprise self-titled album that woke up the music industry, she now brings that force to the cover of TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People issue.
Sheryl Sandberg, founder of Leanin.org, praises Queen Bey in her profile. She remarks,
“In the past year, Beyoncé has sold out the Mrs. Carter Show World Tour while being a full-time mother. Her secret: hard work, honesty and authenticity. And her answer to the question, What would you do if you weren’t afraid? appears to be “Watch me. I’m about to do it.” Then she adds, “You can, too.”
Other notable people in the issue include President Obama, Serena Williams, Kerry Washington and comedian Jordan Peele. The issue is on newsstands now. Check out the behind-the-scenes footage of Bey’s shoot below.
