I can’t even. I don’t know what he was throwing at. He was on hand to promote an upcoming concert at the baseball field since his new album, Animal Ambition, is due out June 3. I think it’s safe to say that he’ll be alright as long as he doesn’t have to throw in a straight line. See the whole situation below.
My heart is so heavy right now.
The woman who gave us literary classics such as “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings” and still managed to make us laugh in a skit on Saturday Night Live, Maya Angelou has died. CNN reports that Angelou was found in her Winston-Salem, NC home Wednesday morning by her caretaker.
In a career that has spanned decades and crossed many professions, she wrote, directed, acted and gave her knowledge to others. She spent her early years studying dance in San Fransisco until the age of 14, toured Europe as an opera singer, recorded an album and worked on Broadway plays. In her86 years on Earth, she came to hold more than 30 honorary degrees and been bestowed countless awards, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom. In her later years, she had taken a teaching position at Wake Forest University. She taught American Studies, despite never attending college herself.
Maya Angelou found her voice after a childhood trauma silenced her– as a 7-year-old, she was raped by her mother’s boyfriend. After testifying against him, a mob killed the man. She took this to heart, thinking that her speaking up killed him, so she stopped talking. She didn’t utter a word for six years after that. Her literary voice was taking shape. “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings,” published in 1969 was a catalyst for a series of autobiographical writings. It was also one of the first nonfiction best sellers by an African-American woman.
Angelou was scheduled to appear at the 2014 MLB Beacon Award Luncheon, where she was receiving the Beacon of Life Award. Her appearance had been cancelled, however to recent health problems.
Her last words to the masses came in the form of a tweet on May 23.
Listen to yourself and in that quietude you might hear the voice of God.

Rest in Heaven, Dr. Angelou. You will be missed.
You may not like them, but I’d have to classify you as a hater if you said Kanye West and Kim Kardashian didn’t look amazing together. The newly married couple exchanged vows at Fort di Belvedere in Florence Italy over the weekend with most of their family and friends along for the ride. E! had some of the first official pictures from the ceremony, which we’ve snagged for your enjoyment.
Sharing their first kiss as husband and wife, the floral wall behind them was especially erected just for the occasion.
At the reception, all the guests partied and took fun pictures in the photo booth while being treated to a 4-course meal and slices of a 7-tier wedding cake. An alternate dessert of strawberry sorbet was also offered. Kim’s parents, Bruce and Kris Jenner gave touching speeches on their daughter’s big day. Apparently, Bruce even got a little misty-eyed. Nobody could top the wedding speech that ‘Ye himself delivered to his bride and family. He hailed the reality-tv royalty as “warriors” and “an industry” oh and let’s not forget “the most remarkable people of our time.”
Well okay, then.
Looks like they turned their backs on the haters anyway.
The WNBA is really into pushing boundaries and breaking barriers and they’re doing it again with the launch of a campaign targeting the LGBT community of fans. A smart move on the heels of equality movements for gay rights, it capitalizes on a fact that the league has known for many years: a chunk of it’s fan base identifies as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender. According to a 2012 study commissioned by the WNBA, 25 percent of the female viewership came from women who identify as lesbian.
The campaign is aiming to have teams participate in pride festivals, other LGBT events and media outlets. WNBA president Laurel Richie feels like this is a step toward shifting perception and making strides toward greater changes. “For us it’s a celebration of diversity and inclusion and recognition of an audience that has been with us very passionately,” she stated in an interview with the Associated Press. “We embrace all our fans and it’s a group that we know has been very, very supportive. I won’t characterize it as ‘Why did it take so long?’ For me it’s been we’ve been doing a lot of terrific initiatives. The piece that’s different this year is unifying it.”
Brittney Griner, a player for the Phoenix Mercury who publicly came out as gay last year, is happy with the league’s strides for inclusion. ““We’ll pave the way and show its fine and there’s nothing wrong with it. More sports need to do it. It’s 2014, it’s about time.”
The initiative’s first supporting event will be a televised Pride match between the Tulsa Shock and Chicago Sky on June 22. June is also LGBT Pride Month.
Riri loves the kids, especially if they’re family.
Rihanna spent her Memorial Day in Malibu with family and friends celebrating the impending birth of a new baby. That beauty in the purple dress is her cousin Noella. Bestie, Melissa Forde was also in attendance.
Still sporting her candy-colored hair, the “Talk That Talk” singer was posted up with her mom, Monica Braithwaite, and her brothers Rorrey and Rajad. That’s a good looking crew.
Here she is with Rorrey, enjoying a “red” Popsicle.
Rihanna had a good time with drinks, laughter and toys. Later on a conga line formed. There are no pictures, but you know the Electric Slide happened. It had to. She looks like she was ready to “slide” while doing the conga!
Here’s what happens when keeping it real goes wrong. Apparently over the weekend, T.I.’s wife, Tiny decided to step out and have some girls time in Vegas. While out clubbing, she runs into “Pretty Boy Floyd” and their respective crews link up and have a good time. Some pictures were taken and Tip got word of it. You know, he get’s a little defensive about his boo. Next thing we all know, Tip is taking it back to the streets, strolling up in Fat Burger like it ain’t no thing, to confront Mayweather. What happens in Vegas did not stay in Vegas, because that’s how we got here:
The photo in question?

TMZ says that Mayweather and crew were eating at Fat Burger when TI rolled through and started punching him. The entourages jumped in, chairs started flying and Floyd told Tip to “Control his b-tch.” By the time the police showed, up Floyd was leaving and TI was already gone. Here’s what Floyd had to say.
TI took to social media to show his face and address rumors that he’d gotten hurt in the scuffle.
The most hilarious thing about this has been 50 cent. Now, this man missed his son’s high school graduation (baby mama drama or not) but found time to make a series of instagram clips. I’m just saying…
After the fight, it seems that Mayweather took it to another strip club to make it rain on some girls because, that’s the only way to get over an ambush.
What are your thoughts? Did TI sucker punch Floyd, or was Floyd just slow to the draw? Sound off below!
Have you been watching Love and Hip-Hop Atlanta this season?
You know when Tammy was bothering Waka Flocka about folding laundry when she mentioned eloping? Well, according to RumorFix, Waka Flocka is officially off the market. Mama Deb was being hilariously annoying and controlling about wedding details concerning her son’s impending nuptials with Rivera, so the pair took matters into their own hands.
“I was selfish. I wanted to be a part of it,” Debra says of her job as unofficial wedding planner, but “they got a marriage license about two weeks ago without me knowing it.”
Well that was easy, huh?
Waka and Tammy have been engaged since May 2012, and at their initial engagement, the opted for finger tattoos rather than traditional rings.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Flocka. They seem to be the realest thing about season 3 of Love and Hip-Hop. May they live happily ever after!
