New Video: Robin Thicke “Get Her Back”

In what seems like the final push before “Paula” hits stores on July 1, Robin Thicke gives us the video for the single “Get Her Back.” I’m not even sure how I feel about it. What could be a great love song about reconciliation and doing what it takes for love comes off a slightly creepy, I’m-out-on-a-ledge-thinking-about-jumping  situation thanks to the visuals. Text messages are being exchanged on screen. with the minimalist production of the song playing along. It’s all dark and moody with muted colors and a shirtless man with insanely(enhanced) blue eyes and a beautiful woman? This could have gone so many ways, but this one went way wrong, in my opinion.

I’m just saying, you have to look at the big picture here– if you want your wife back, I don’t think she’s trying to hear it when you put out a video of you bloody and a woman that looks strangely like her appearing to drown. It could just be me.  I know that Robin is no stranger to controversy and this may appear on the list of Top “WTF was Robin Thicke thinking?” Moments, but if this is supposed to look like you were beaten and bruised by love and these are the symptoms of a broken heart…whew. I pray that none of us ever  have one that serious. It’s understandable that he’s upset. Robin Thicke and Paula Patton were high school sweethearts that were married for eight years. They have a son together. Maybe Paula is right in riding this one out. No matter how good it sounds it doesn’t always make it right.

We recently gave you a look at the track list for the album that he’s dedicated to his estranged wife. See the song’s matching clip below and tell us what you think.
