Adrienne Bailon Shakes Up Latina Magazine, Talks Rob Kardashian and Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Snap Back

Adrienne Bailon has found her second wind. With her talk show “The Real”  hitting TV screens everywhere this fall, the singer-actress-turned-tv-personality is out here doing her thing and doing it well. On the August cover of Latina Magazine, she looks radiant with a flawless skin, spiked lashes and nude lips.  In her interview, she addresses her love life, recovering from setbacks and her infamous relationship with the Kardashian brother.

On suffering Rob Kardashian’s infidelity in the public eye: “It’s common knowledge that he cheated on me, and it always bothered me that people were like, ‘Pero, why couldn’t you forgive him?’ Why are women always the ones who have to forgive? If you cheated on a man, he would be like, ‘You’re disgusting, and I want nothing to do with you.’ But women, we’re supposed to be like, ‘He messed up. He made a mistake.’ And, in my situation, it wasn’t like, ‘Oh my God! I made a mistake!’ He strategically planned things out so that he could cheat on me, and that to me was so disloyal.”

On being ready to settle down: “If by some miracle we started taping The Real in New York tomorrow, I’d marry him [Def Jam Exec Lenny Santiago], like, right now. I want a family. I see my sister and she’s on her second baby, and I’m like, That’s success. Having a family—I can’t wait for that.”

On surviving career ups and downs: “One thing that growing up in [New York] taught me was never to give up. Do you know how many times my career has been close to rock bottom? Each time, I was like, Girl, figure it out. Reinvent yourself. Just the other day, I was having lunch with my mom, and she said, ‘You’ve taught me so much. You are so resilient.’”

Here comes a test of her resilience, because the Kardashian clan is out for social media blood following Adrienne’s remarks about their brother, Rob, who she dated from 2007-2009.

First came Kim

Then came Kourtney, but she deleted hers soon after.

And Khloe addressed the situation in response to a twitter fan’s question

I’m not sure what Adrienne said that was so wrong for everybody to be so upset, but we all know it doesn’t take much to set one of them off, and when you set off one Kardashian, you get them all.

Regardless, Adrienne is a star in her own right. The Real premieres September 15.

R. Kelly Booted From Ohio Festival Line-Up After Public Outcry

Oh, R. Kelly… you can’t win.

Six years after being acquitted on child pornography charges, they still come back to bite R. Kelly in the pockets. The “Black Panties” maestro was set to take the stage in Ohio for the Fashion Meets Music Festival last night but locals were not having it and neither were other performers.   Following weeks of chatter and outrage from the people of Columbus, FMMF organizers and R. Kelly’s people released a statement.

“Fashion Meets Music Festival and headlining artist R. Kelly have come to the mutual decision to cancel Kelly’s upcoming performance at the inaugural Fashion Meets Music Festival.”

Followed by R. Kelly’s PR acknowledgement:

“R. Kelly is sorry to disappoint his fans, but looks forward to seeing them in the near future during one of his upcoming tours.”

Folk rock band, Saintseneca who were also in the line up, dropped out upon the news of his addition as headliner. In a statement on their website, they wrote:

“…we were disappointed that the artist selected to headline the festival was R. Kelly. We feel his selection as a performer ignores his very serious allegations of sexual violence and assault. We feel it is an affront to all survivors, who are already often overlooked and forgotten in our society.”

The festival also lost the backing of WCBE 90.5 FM, a local radio station whose license is held by the school board. General Manager Dan Mushalko had this to say about cancelling their sponsorship:

” Obviously, since they represent children and they represent teenagers, they didn’t want us associated with the event if R. Kelly was a part of it. So whether you looked at it from our internal ethics, or the feedback from our listeners and the school district, it came down to everything saying, ‘You just can’t do it.’”

When your performers start dropping like flies and news spreads quickly thanks to social media, it only makes sense that you look at what’s causing the issue.  Unfortunately for the R., it was him.

Oh well, he’s got all his baby-making music to keep him occupied but it looks like he might want to go back to stepping.
