Ebola Fighters Named Time Magazine’s “Person of the Year” for 2014

In a race between the Ferguson protesters, Russian president, Vladimir Putin, Iraqui Kurdistan president, Masoud Barzani, and Jack Ma, who founded Chinese online marketplace, Alibaba, the TIME Person of the Year cover goes to the folks on the front line who “risked and persisted, sacrificed and saved” others from the Ebola virus.

The protesters in Ferguson were in the top running with the Ebola aid workers, but were edged out despite ongoing demonstrations since the August 9 murder of unarmed teenager, Michael Brown who was shot and killed by officer Darren Wilson. The decision doesn’t come without a little salt in the wound as the fight against police brutality and racism rages on.

What do you think of the decision? Let us know in the comments below.
