Congratulations are in order for Attorney General Loretta Lynch!

Hailing from Greensboro, North Carolina, Attorney General Lynch earned her law degree from Harvard Law School before becoming a prosecutor for the US Attorney’s office for the Eastern District of New York. Under the Clinton and Obama administration, she served as the US Attorney before being nominated to succeed Attorney General Eric Holder by President Obama for the Attorney General seat in 2014. She is the first African American woman to hold the position of Attorney General as she was sworn in earlier today
