On Wednesday’s episode of ABC’s The View, Whoopi Goldberg made an announcement that 29-year-old former Cosby kid, Raven Symone would be joining the panel of hosts full-time on the show. Raven has co-hosted The View 37 times and is excited to make the move permanent.
“I remember coming to show with the Cheetah Girls when I was 15,” and said, “I’m very happy to be sitting with these smart, talented mentors. Being a part of The View family will be a wonderful growing experience for me. The cast and crew are warm and welcoming and have made the transition into daytime talk easier. I have a lot to learn within this new arena, but being the apprentice of these spectacular women will only make me a better person and talk show host.”
Well, if recent events have said enough, Raven’s viewpoints may go way left of the majority of people, but surely this will keep the show interesting. ABC knows that the show has lacked a younger viewpoint for some time and probably wanted to liven things up a bit for Whoopi, Nicole Wallace and Rosie Perez. Former host Rosie O’donnell left the show earlier this year. Barbara Walters remains an executive producer of the show.
