Here is a positive cause for fashion. On Sunday, Erica Mena from Love and Hip Hop New York guest judged “I am Glam”,Fashion Show at the Hyatt Regency New Brundwick, NJ. The event was given by Jay McCain of Nex Vision. The shows mission was to raise awareness about breast and other types of cancer affecting women.

The I am model Miss Glam has been created to give women a platform so well deserved. History has taught us a woman’s beauty is defined by society. Which leads to fear and self doubt. In turn leading into insecurities and missed opportunities. This show empowers women in many different ways. From building self esteem, health education, and character building. Today’s women need education on breast health and other associated cancers. Early detection will not only improve the risk but save lives.

Guest performances included Rapper Black Collar Biz of Trenton, New Jersey and the Rapstress/Singer duo Katrina and Pearl of New York City. The show ended with a standing ovation for the night Honoree, Eboni Hicks, who is a Breast Cancer Survivor. The models, from the New York City and New Jersey Tri-Sate area, were up against each other in a 30 contestant line up, that dropped down to 15 until finally 1 contestant was crowned “Miss Glam”.
